If you are a columnist, writer or visual artist looking to share your talents
with the world in a pro-artist environment, you have come to the right
place. Whether this is your first foray into working with a publication
or you have been at it a while, we welcome your contribution to Joy Of
Sound; all you need is imagination, enthusiasm, ability and a little thing
called talent.
Joy Of Sound is committed in encouraging writers and artists to get involved
and obtain experience. Joy Of Sound provides a positive environment that
permits and encourages growth for writers and artists to create. Assignments
may occasionally be presented, but the overall project is free-form and
you will be allowed to write on whichever subject you feel passionately
about or have knowledge you would like to impart.
Columnists are provided opportunities to write a featured installment series on a topic of their own choosing. Columns quickly become recognized and admired features and can receive maximum coverage. Columns will have text links as well as banners to promote the series. Article writers have the freedom to write on various topics running the gamut from travel pieces to interviews. Visual artists can also get in on the action; having their work displayed in our gallery as well as selected images being featured on the main entry page, as well as various spots throughout the site.

Contributing Writers
Qualification Requirements – Previous published writing experience/ qualifications are not an essential; however, those who wish to apply for this and of our other positions should be dedicated, passionate and have a genuine ability and wish to grow and improve.
Description – Writers are continually being sought to contribute to JOS.
While Plasma has a no-holds policy in place, meaning there is complete
creative freedom in terms of topic. Assignments are rarely allocated, so
writers are always able to choose what they wish to cover.
Columnists
Location – Open
Qualification Requirements – Previous published writing experience/ qualifications are not an essential.
Description – Columnists write on a various array of topics, providing different points of views and ways of looking at things. As we are looking for regular features, we are looking for people who can contribute on a regular schedule. Please do not apply for this position if you are unable to commit to a feature column.
Reviewers
Description –Ongoing positions open for those who wish to write reviews for the subjects listed above. As well as covering recent offerings, we are also looking for reviews on older works (this includes reissues).
Photographers/Visual Artists
Location – Open
Qualification Requirements – None
Description – Photographers and visual artists are always desired. All
styles are welcome.
Graphics
Qualification Requirements – Some previous experience in designing for the web and/or print is preferred.
Description – These slots are needed on a regular and as-needed basis. In a nutshell, this is work that features heavily in the design of our webpage by the way of logos and other special design elements.
Scene Reporters
Description – These will work in to our 'Digging Your Scene' sections and
focus on the music and art scenes across the county and around the world.
